The Swans are set to officially unveil their new shirt for the new season at White Rock next week after concluding negotiations over the change in manufacturer and maybe even sponsor.

It has widely been rumoured that the shirt will not be made by Bergoni again and that the team will be wearing a Macron shirt as rumoured on the message board back in the middle of May.

The club announcement is expected to be made early next week with the new season then less than seven weeks away.

Last season saw the club sponsored by Remax although several rumours circulating have suggested that it could be NTL or even Alberto Culver in a joint deal with sponsorship of the new stadium as well. NTL have previously been involved in sports sponsorship in Swansea having been sponsors of Swansea Rugby Club.

Bergoni shirts have long been criticised by the fans for their quality and finish and calls have been made for the Swans to change shirt makers in the past but now it is believed to have been changed to the new ones which will go on show next week.

And with seven weeks for the shirts to be in the club shop, there could be every chance that the club should make some money in the close season from replica shirts that all too often have not been available until the first weeks of the new season. However, it will be a trip to Swansea to purchase them as the shop at the new stadium is not expected to be open much before the first friendly on July 23.

Meanwhile Kenny Jackett has confessed to BBC sport that the Swans are not near a deal for either Grant Holt or Andy Burgess:

“We’re not close to a deal for either player,” said Swans manager Jackett.

“The chairman, Huw Jenkins, has made very good offers for both which have been turned down. We’ll wait and see if that changes over the next weeks.” he said

“If there’s a deal to be done close to where we are now then we will do it, We’ll just draw our breath now and if either club comes back to us and wants to pursue either deal then fine.

“We’ve been quiet aggressive what we’re trying to do and haven’t been able to sign either player.”
