Manager Kenny Jackett was Flynn’s successor, brought in at the end of the 2003-04 season after previously being number 2 to Ian Holloway at QPR. Kenny also managed at Watford for a brief period where he took Watford to a club record unbeaten run.
Many fans had their doubts about Jackett from the start as he was not a big name. One win from six at the end of the 03-04 season followed by one win in five at the start to the 04-05 campaign, many fans were wondering if Kenny was the right man in charge after an embarrassing display against Jackett’s former club QPR in the League Cup.
This wasn’t to last long as Swans grabbed their first home win under Kenny (1-0 win over Lincoln) then the Swans & Kenny never looked back and the Swans reached the top of League 2 and some fan’s views changed over the former Welsh International.
Kenny has brought in some quality players and they all seem much fitter than they were under the management of Flynn, has experience in managing in League 1 – with QPR – and he will be looking for a good season this coming one.
