Lee Trundle is the proud winner of his second powerade player of the month award of the year after he was confirmed today as the winner of the League One award for September.
Trundle notched six goals in the month, 2 against both Bristol City and Hartlepool with a goal each in the wins over MK Dons and Bournemouth on the road. Trundle was confirmed as the winner ahead of strikers Wayne Allison and Matty Fryatt and also Southend defender Adam Barrett.
Trundle’s award comes just days after Kevin McLeod won the PFA Player of the Month award for his performances which saw the Swans unbeaten during the month of September.
Meanwhile, a Freddy Eastwood goal was enough to give Southend a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at Roots Hall today and remove the Swans from their three and a half week stay at the top of the table. Eastwood struck late in the second half to give Southend their eight consecutive victory and in turn a three point lead over us at the top.
Swansea could fall outside the top two tomorrow if Huddersfield beat Bradford.
