Paul started his career at Torquay before making his move to Portsmouth. He spent six seasons at the South Coast club scoring 39 goals in the process. He then had spells at Bury, Coventry, Sheffield United, West Bromwich Albion, Walsall and Rushden and Diamonds before finding his way to Prenton Park.

He helped Tranmere reach the Play-Offs and got into double figures for that campaign. This season his move to Saltergate has proved a fruitful one, having scored 15 times in the league, one short of his career best. He has also been capped by Jamaica on many occasions.
