Tiny midfielder Leon Britton was signed by Brian Flynn on loan from West Ham in 2002; he played a major part in helping the Swans survive relegation from the basement division, Leon also won the Player of the Year award for that season.

Leon is a fans favourite with his trickery and work rate, he even chipped in with 5 goals last season – his best ever in a season. The only thing that lets him down is his shooting, especially in one-on-one situations.

Britton will have an operation in pre-season but will be hoping to be fully fit by the time the season starts; he played mostly on the right wing last season but can also play in the centre of midfield
