No To £325k For Ricketts |
|
Swansea City are set to turn down an improved £325,000 bid for Welsh international Sam Ricketts as Hull step up their interest in the full back who has spent two years in Swansea. Having already turned down bids for both Willy Gueret (MK Dons) and Andy Robinson (Southend) it appears it will be a hat-trick within a week as the News of the World reports the improved offer is likely to be rejected. Speaking to the Evening Post after reports of a potential £300,000 bid for Ricketts, chairman Huw Jenkins said "We have received interest in a number of our players, but we are not looking to leave anyone go. Our objection is to strengthen, "We are retaining all the players we think will be key to our plans this season. We are retaining all the players we think will be key to our plans this season. We are pursuing players every day. We are looking at bringing in two to three players between now and August 5.We are looking at some trialists. Some are goalkeepers which could provide competition for Willy." In addition, Jenkins also rubbished claims that Yeovil were ready to move for Kevin McLeod "There has been no official enquiry from Yeovil. It’s pure speculation," said Jenkins, who is becoming accustomed to the rumour mill hanging over the Liberty. "All this transfer talk surrounding our players is welcomed. It means we must be doing something right. "We are not used to it because Swansea haven’t had good enough players in the past. "But now we have attracted interest for a number of players. "However, our attitude remains the same. We fell just short last season, so with a couple of players on top of last season’s squad we hope to be up there again." |
