Kenny Jackett says that fitness is the only thing between Marcos Painter and an extended stay in Swansea.
After signing on a months loan, Painter has played in two games before injury ruled him out of the last few but they were enough to convince Jackett that if his man is fit then he will extend his stay in Wales
”If Marcos is fit then we will extend it,” Jackett said. ”It just depends on his fitness. He trained with Birmingham yesterday and he’s back with us today. ”He has a chance for Saturday. ”If he is not fit then he has to go back to his parent club to get himself sorted out.”
”The two games he has played have been good ones, ”Marcos has good character – he is a real determined lad. What he has got is ability and hunger.”
“The message I got before I was injured was that my loan would be extended,” says Painter, “I’m definitely keen to stay longer. “I really enjoyed the two games I had before the injury and I would love to play some more. “I think there’s a possibility that it might be a loan until the end of the season and I’d definitely consider that. “I’m enjoying playing and I don’t think I’m going to get a look-in at Birmingham right now because the team is winning. “I’m a Swansea player at the moment anyway, and I’m hoping for the chance to help get them back into the play-off places.”
