Level Playing Field 2007

Welcome to the Level Playing Field 2007 campaign.

We had an excellent response to last year’s campaign and it highlighted that football is doing a great deal of good work on the disability front but as always, more can be done….

Sir Trevor Brooking, The FA’s Director of Football Development and Patron of the ‘Level Playing Field’ campaign said that this project will help to promote inclusion in football. “We are delighted to be working in partnership with NADS on this unique initiative to celebrate opportunities for disabled people in football.”

LPF Launches – 2 April 2007

We are delighted to announce that the 2007 Level Playing Field will be launched at WEMBLEY STADIUM on Monday 2 April at 2pm.

This is a fantastic opportunity to visit the new venue and we would like to thank Wembley National Stadium Limited, Delaware North Companies and Eclipse Presentations for their assistance in providing room hire, refreshments and stage management facilities. They have made us a very generous offer and it is much appreciated by NADS as we are currenly self funding the campaign.

We have also arranged a tour of the Stadium and it’s disabled facilities after the meeting.

If you would like to attend the meeting, or register your interest in receiving more information, please contact us at info@nads.org.uk or call Jamie Polk on 0845 230 6237.

What is the LPF?

Level Playing Field is a national campaign which celebrates the opportunities for people with disabilities to be actively involved in football, and targets clubs from the Premier League to the Conference. The initiative was designed by NADS with the backing of the football authorities to highlight and promote the opportunities for disabled people to play and watch the game.

The main objective of the ‘Level Playing Field’ campaign is to promote disability awareness and highlight both the facilities and the Football in the Community activities relating to disabled people at each club. Ultimately, it is hoped the match day experience will be the same for the disabled supporter as for the non-disabled fan – a situation which is already starting to take shape and gives rise to NADS strapline of “Making a Choice, Not Taking A Chance”.

Scope

NADS are equally delighted to announce a major new partnership with Scope. Scope is the leading disability organisation with over 50 years experience of working with disabled people, and they are uniting with the NADS-led equality in football campaign Level Playing Field to combine forces to kick disablism out of the game.
