Swans Look To Build More….. |

Why not visit our sponsors lounge Bodde was linked last week with a Sky Sports report that he had already signed but this was quickly denied by the club but the Evening Post reports that terms have been agreed fee wise and that the deal could be completed before the end of next week. Goalkeeper De Vries played with Boode at Den Haag and appeared in yesterday’s Scottish Cup Final, where his Dunfermline side were beaten 1-0 thanks to an 84th minute goal from league champions Celtic. His contract is up at Dunfermline after a successful 12 month spell there – despite the Pars relegation – and whilst he has already attracted interest from Hibs and Dundee United, Swansea are understood to be well in the hunt to capture the man who is seen as the one to replace Willy Gueret as first choice between the sticks. Swansea are in the hunt for a goalkeeper after the release of Andy Oakes at the end of last season and whispers on the message board have also linked them with a move for Rochdale’s Matthew Gilks who is understood to be looking at his options after attracting interest from higher divisions. Meanwhile Chairman Huw Jenkins has sung the praises of new signing Matty Collins who arrived on Friday from Fulham ”He’s a young Welsh boy who was snapped up by Fulham a few years ago and looked to have a promising career in front of him,” he told the Evening Post ”For whatever reason he has not made it to the first team, which is obviously quite difficult in the Premiership, but Roberto’s had a good look at him and believes he could develop into a great signing over the next 12 months. ”Matty knows there’s a lot of work in front of him if he is to become an established first-team player, but he has the potential and the ability to do that. ”He now has a great opportunity in front of him and we’re pleased to offer him that chance.” |
