It was Blackpool and Yeovil who contested the League One play off final after defeating the opening opponents of next season and, as we know too well, it can be easy to allow play off defeats to carry forward into the following season. We faced Oldham on the second weekened of last season – losing 1-0 and also missed out to them on the last play off spot on the last day of last term. Following the two games, its a trip to Walsall – whom we also play in the Carling Cup – before Doncaster come to Swansea on September 1. The much awaited trip to Leeds is on September 22, whilst they arrive at the Liberty as part of a mouth watering clash on December 29. At the back end of the season, the computer hasn’t been kind – final four away trips are Southend (March 22), Hartlepool (March 29), Gillingham (April 12) and Brighton (May 3 – last game). The long trip to Carlisle is December 22!! Local derby wise we have Cheltenham (Away on Sept 8 and home on December 26), Swindon (Home on Oct 2 and away on January 1), Yeovil (Away on Oct 27 and home 19 April) and finally Bristol Rovers (Away on December 8 and home March 24) For those looking at holiday fixtures – Xmas sees Cheltenham (Home) Boxing Day, Leeds on Dec 29th at home and Swindon away on New Year’s Day. While the Easter Eggs can be enjoyed with Southend Away (March 22) and Rovers at home (March 24) As usual the red tape at League HQ means we cant show you the list of fixtures so swanseacity.net is your destination for that.
