Angel follows hot on the heels of Bussy – a striker who signed earlier in the week from Espanyol.

Angel will sign a two year performance related contract and will sign for an undisclosed fee when he arrives in Swansea tomorrow. His description on the Official Site reads

"Rangel had a year left on his contract at the Segunda B club, who were relegated from Spain’s equivalent of the Championship two seasons ago, but jumped at the chance of teaming up with Roberto and fellow Spaniard Guillem Bauza Mayol (Bussy) who is on his way from Espanyol."

Whilst manager Roberto Martinez had this to add

“We have been following him for quite some time, he has had a great season in Spain and there were quite a few clubs chasing him.

“In fact, there were a few Segunda (championship) clubs ready to sign him. But we got in at just the right time and he turned them all down after committing himself to us.

“He’s really excited about joining us and it’s great to see a player excepting the challenge of playing abroad instead of taking the easy option of staying at home.

“But that shows the type of player he is – hungry and desperate to progress his career and be successful with Swansea City.” "He has got all the attributes to be successful in the British game, he is a good, attacking full-back who is also strong defensively; playing anywhere across the back.

“Angel makes good use of the ball and can produce some quality crosses. He covers a lot of ground during a game and gets into the final third with ease.”

Pre-season training at the Liberty gets underway today.
