Season Ticket Sales Could Break 8,000 Barrier |
|
Why not visit our sponsors lounge Swansea City could be heading for the 8,000 barrier of season ticket sales thanks to the optimism that surrounds the club following a busy summer in the transfer market. Twelve months ago things were still low as a play off defeat to Barnsley lingered fresh in the mind but now it is a different story as Roberto Martinez builds a team that we all hope is good enough to challenge for, and secure, a place in the Championship in twelve months time. And Vice-Chairman is under no illusions as to why the tickets are selling at the rate of around 50 per day even now “Roberto is very well known here from his playing days and people believe he wants to play the type of football Swansea is famous for. It’s exciting and that’s what the fans want to see. “Roberto has gone out there and revamped his squad and we have brought in players who are very good value for money. “The guys we have bought will fit in with the skilful players we already have, the likes of Lee Trundle or Andy Robinson, for example, and they will improve our squad. “It just shows that the supporters can see we are progressing and they believe in what we are doing. “The expectations are no different to any other season. We are building a club that will progress and we are always looking to move forward. “We are targeting promotion, whether it is through the automatic places or the play-offs, and we believe it is realistic.” And with Children in the family stand able to buy tickets at £23 for the season, it is something else that has added a positive feeling to the boardroom “It has been a fantastic idea. In the family stand alone we are 70 per cent full. “It ensures fans for the future and that is something we have been working towards for the last few years.” |
