BBC Report Keeper Signing

The Swans have been a keeper short since Willy Gueret joined MK Dons before the season started and have only youngster Callum Hawthorne as backup to De Vries. In the last couple of games Roberto has elected to go without a reserve keeper on the bench.

The BBC web site reports "The 20-year-old former Oldham and Darlington youngster is also an ex-England youth international.

But he has struggled to break into the first team at the Riverside and has now become surplus to requirements.

Swansea boss Roberto Martinez has been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper ever since Willy Gueret left the club to join MK Dons.

Knight is expected to pen a one-year-deal with Swansea City on Friday and is understood to be the only signing the club make on deadline day. "

Whether the last part of that last sentence turns out to be true nobody knows at this moment in time although their are strong rumours that a further signing could be unveiled before the closure of the window at midnight tonight.
