Anderson already finds himself joint top of the Swans goalscoring charts with six goals this season but he still believes that there is more to come from him as he wants to keep the players returning from injury from the side. Anderson has shone in recent weeks as the Swans have put some consistency of their own into results but with both Andy Robinson and Leon Britton now recovered from injury, he knows that he must raise the bar higher if he is to retain his position in the side.
Speaking in today’s Western Mail, Anderson said “It’s definitely a case of my best is yet to come, the more games I play, the better I get.
“I still haven’t performed as well as I can. I need to get a little bit more consistency into my game.
“I didn’t think I put in a great performance against Bournemouth. But hopefully I can bounce back at Yeovil.
“It would be nice to pull something out the bag and help us get a win. Hopefully I will be in the squad and start the game.
“It’s nice to be joint top scorer, especially being a winger
“It’s always good to get goals and people look at it favourably if you are a midfielder who can join in and score goals.
“But, more importantly, it’s just good for us to get the wins and be up near the top of the table.
“We are getting goals all over the pitch. Ferrie Bodde scored a brilliant one at Bournemouth and then Dennis Lawrence chipped in as well.
“It shows it’s not just the strikers scoring. The goals can come from anywhere.
“Even though Brits and Robbo are back, hopefully I can still do my stuff,” he said.
“Everyone that’s come in, whether it’s me, Tom Butler or Andrea Orlandi, has shown that they can come in and do just as good a job as Andy and Leon.
“There’s now a big fight on to see who starts. I’ll do my best to make sure I’m one of them.”
He continued, “It’s not a case of there being added pressure because they are back. There’s always big pressure on you at this club.
“I didn’t know much about Swansea before I came. But, even though we are in a lower league, we get such good support and there is always pressure on you to perform.
“You have to come in and play well. If your not playing to the best of your ability there are other people who will come in and do a job.”
“It was definitely the right decision for me to come here, I’ve already changed as a player.
“I’ve matured a lot more and I’m not just a headless chicken on the pitch like I used to be. I’ve come on a lot and hopefully I can get better and better here.”
He added, “I still speak to a few of the boys I was in the reserves with at Liverpool.
“But I haven’t really spoken to any of the coaching staff.”
