Roberto Martinez admits that he is “excited” by the return of Owain Tudur Jones to the first team after more than 12 months out of the game.
Tudur Jones is fit and ready for first team duty if called upon and will also feature for the reserves at Yeovil today as he looks to get his career back on track following his injury nightmares.
And Martinez told the Evening Post that he cannot wait for the moment Owain returns to first team action
Martinez told the Evening Post: “If I’m honest with you, I’m excited about seeing Owain playing again.
“I have seen a huge improvement in Owain and, if everyone was excited about the way he was before the injury, I can guarantee them he has come back a lot stronger.
“He is more mature and tactically he is a different player – I know he will impress our fans again when he gets back in.
“With the characteristics he has got, Owain can play in many positions,” added the Swansea boss.
“He could easily play centre-half because he is big, he is strong, he can read the game well, he is fantastic in one-v-one situations and he is a leader.
“But Owain prefers to play in central midfield and that’s the way I’ll see him until he changes his mind.”
