ROBERTO MARTINEZ

“I asked the boys at half-time whether they wanted to go back out there and win the game or just accept that it was going to be a bad day at the office,” explained Roberto.

“I think their answer was obvious for everyone to see. Their second-half performance made me proud – and it should make everyone else proud as well.

“It was a pleasure to see the character they displayed out there. It would have been easy for them to go out and hide because everything went against us in the first-half, but instead they really went for it with 10 men.

“We may have only come away with a point, but as far as I’m concerned we also came away with the moral victory.

“I think the fans appreciated their efforts as well because the support was fantastic throughout and I’d like to thank them for that.

“The players said afterwards that it a pleasure to be out there.

“I’ve seen it (the sending off) on the replay and it’s difficult to see it as a malicious challenge.

“I certainly don’t think it was a red card because there was no intent there.”

“It didn’t go for him (Robinson) tonight, but he’s won many games single-handedly for this club in the past.

“I’m proud of him because you have to have a great personality to go up there and take it in the first place.”

Mark Stimson

“It was an extremely pleasing draw,” he said. “The game was a real rollercoaster. Swansea are a good side, a well organised side who are riding high at the moment in second position.

“We had to be disciplined in the second-half and I thought we were, which is a great sign.

“I think that when they had their lad sent-off it gave them some added impetus and the crowd got excited and they started to put some real pressure on us.

“The penalty was a little dubious, but we got what we deserved when Royce pulled off a fantastic first save and then when the ball bounced back to their player it was a relief to see it drop harmlessly into his hands”
