ROBERTO MARTINEZ
“It was the sort of game you would expect with the romance of the cup,” said Martinez. “I think the lower teams are always the favourites and Billericay deserve a lot of credit because they put on a fantastic show.
“I wanted a reaction at half-time because a few of our players haven’t played in the cup before, so it was important they knew what it was about.
“I was happy with the way we competed because this was a potential banana-skin for us and I knew, win or lose, we wouldn’t get a lot of credit.”
MATT JONES
“I am really proud of the team. They stuck to the game-plan and for 90 minutes we performed at an even level,” he said.
“I believed we could win when we went in front and overall it was an even game – they didn’t bombard our goal.
“We don’t see the quality of Swansea week in, week out and I think Roberto will be the first to admit it was a tough game and a close encounter.”
