Hammill has been a target for the Swans maybe more so since they missed out on his Anfield colleague Paul Anderson.

And this is the first indication from the player that he is ready to move on for the new season although he insists that his long term future remains at Anfield.

Hammill made 28 appearances for the Saints last season – the last ironically being in Wales against Cardiff back at the end of March.   The 20 year old is a product of the Liverpool youth academy and played in their 2006 FA Youth cup winning side.  His spell at Dunfermline came in the second half of the 2006/7 season and – along with De Vries – he played in the Scottish Cup Final against Celtic at the end of that season and was widely regarded as their player of the season that year.

He has represented England at Under 19 level and the Evening Post report his ability to play either flank.  They also report interest in the player from Plymouth, Charlton, Preston, Wolves, QPR, Aberdeen and Hibernian.   Which in itself potentially gives comfort in terms of the players ability.

Hammill told SkySports.com "It has been great to be back at Melwood and train with the squad

"I've sat down with the management and have been assured that whilst my future is at Liverpool, it's going to be in everyone's best interests for me continue getting regular first-team football.

"I've heard a number of clubs have made enquiries so it's just a matter of evaluating them and taking it from there.

"I have taken a lot from my previous Dunfermline and Southampton loans and now feel ready to really make an impact this season.

"It's a big year for me and I'm looking forward to it."

The website also reports that Rafa Benetiz is considering the merits of each interested club in terms of what is best for the player.
