Pulis guided the Potters to the Premiership against all odds last season and has given hope to the Swans – and Cardiff – that his success can be repeated next season all you have to have is belief and desire.

Speaking to this week's Wales on Sunday when previewing the new season, the Stoke manager said “I think it will be an even more difficult division again this season

“You just have to look at the teams that have gone down to realise that.

“The biggest thing we had was a group of players who turned up every week. That is what you need.

“We didn’t have the strength in depth or the quality of some of the other teams, but we turned up and had a go every time.

“Swansea have done very well and it will certainly be interesting when the two sides (Swansea and Cardiff) meet,” he admitted.

“They have done really well and I think they will do OK this season.”
