Trundle was speaking as the Swans prepared to potentially gain the victory over Sheffield Wednesday that could see them move above Bristol City and into the Championship's Top Six.

The striker left the club a little over twelve months ago as the Swans first million pound sale for Bristol City whom he nearly helped into the Premier League – they fell at the final hurdle against our Carling Cup victims Hull City.

And Trundle has never reproduced the form that made him a crowd favourite at the Liberty – he managed 20 goals or more in each of his four seasons at the club – and he is now more on the sidelines then he ever was at Swansea.

The Swans, on the other hand, won the League One title in their first season without him with Jason Scotland grabbing 29 goals en route to the League One golden boot – more than Trundle managed in any one of his four seasons.

However, many fans have always said that they would take Trundle back without hesitation and he told the Evening Post "I'd definitely like to go back to Swansea at some point of my career

"It's a club where I had great years playing football so there's no reason why I wouldn't want to go back. It's a team that I love."

He added: "In football it's hard to talk in terms of when things will happen, so I don't know if I would move back in the short term."

The post believe that both transfer fee and wages would be a huge block to this move ever coming off as well as the very public statement from the club in the summer that they would not deal with Trundle's agent Neil Sang following Andy Robinson's move to Leeds.
