Planet Swans ArchivesThe under fire keeper was looking forward to the Swans clash with the Pride Park team tonight as he spoke of the disappointment of Palace and the abilities of one time Derby target Ferrie Bodde.
De Vries will keep his place for the game as the Swans have yet to secure a back up for the Dutchman and he is keen to put the misery of last weekend behind him.
Speaking to the Evening Post he said "It is lucky that we have a game around the corner so quickly because we did not perform to our usual expectations at Palace
"Tonight is going to be a great game because we have great support and the fans will make a lot of noise."
He knows his Dutch colleague Ferrie could have been on the opposite side tonight following the transfer saga in the summer but De Vries insists that the right decision was made in the end and added "Hopefully Ferrie can create something against them. He made a great decision to stay at Swansea City. He is different class. He showed it last season with his range of passing.
"He is doing very well this season as well. He has scored some great goals and he has more potential to show, and that will come at Swansea City.
"He makes us play better and we do the same for him.
"Everyone is focused on the game but not because what happened in the summer," said de Vries. "I am not bothered if it's Manchester United or Derby, I just want to get a cleansheet and three home points.
"It is something that myself and Ferrie talked about. It was a difficult situation. It's great for Swansea that he is still here. He is really motivated to be successful at Swansea.
Hopefully he can knock in the winner as we get the three points."
