Jenkins was speaking as the Swans looked to restart their league campaign after the international break.
Back to back wins over Preston and Wolves have set the Swans up well for the weekend trip to Ipswich where a victory should move the team into the top six in the division.
Speraking in the Evening Post, the Swans Chairman said “We are quite content with how things are ticking over at the moment
“Everything is running smoothly and we have settled down well in the new division which is pleasing.
“We are all getting used to the Championship and to the standards that are needed to be competitive at this level.
“We have done reasonably well so far, although I’m hoping we’ll get better with every bit of experience we get.
“You don’t like to say you’d be happy to end up eighth of 10th, but I think you’d accept that as a fair first year at this level if that’s where we finish.
“Having said that, there are areas where we need to improve and I know Roberto would be the first to admit that there’s a lot more to come from us as a team.
“I think that fact, along with Scunthorpe riding high in League One after going down last year, shows that the gap between the Championship and League One is widening,” Jenkins added.
“I think that gap will get bigger, so our first objective is to cement our position in the Championship.
“There have been certain games so far where we’ve been very, very good and others where we haven’t done ourselves justice.
“Roberto will be looking for that level of consistency which every club in this division struggles to find and I think we’re all looking forward to seeing what we can achieve between now and Christmas.”
