The Swans were praised highly againt for their performance against Ipswich Town – a performance that earned them a deserved point although most would admit it could/should have been more.
Opposition manager Jim Magilton was the latest to add his praises to the way that the Swans play football and was clearly relieved after the game to leave with a point intact for his side.
But Martinez has said that he would rather have picked up the two points than the praise from Magilton and he told the Western Mail โItโs nice that people give us credit, and itโs a compliment to the club. But Iโd rather have the two points back that we dropped than have friends.โ
Of course Martinez will be taking nothing away from the performances of his side and can be very pleased with their performances to date – performances that have seen them hold their own in the top half of the table with two home games to follow inside the next six days.
โYes, we should have won,โ Martinez added. โIf you come to a place like this and put on a display like that for 90 minutes, you deserve to win.
โWe imposed ourselves, had the majority of possession and we dictated things.
โIf we play like that for five games, we will win four.
โBut, when you concede two goals like we did, then itโs difficult to win football games.
โBut there were plenty of positives, and Iโm delighted with the performance after the international break.โ
