Rangel Looks For Perfect Birthday Present

There are probably more glamorous places to spend your birthday than Wolves but as he gets set for his 61st Swans appearance, the now 26-year old is in confident mood as his stock value continues to rise after another impressive start to the season.

Almost ever present last time around, Rangel has returned to full fitness and again has claimed the right back spot as his own as the Swans push on in the Championship.

Rangel told the Western Mail on the eve of the game โ€œOf course, Wolves is a tough game for us

โ€œBut weโ€™re not thinking about them, weโ€™re thinking about us.

โ€œIf we are good, we are a very difficult team to beat.

โ€œAnd we are in our best form of the season at the moment.

โ€œTwo clean sheets in two games shows we are defending well and we are creating chances, too.

โ€œIf we keep doing the same things, we can get a result tonight”

There has been speculation that Rangel could switch to left back for the game – speculation that has been dismissed by Roberto but Rangel was in the same mood as the rest of the squad as he reflected on the bad news for Painter

โ€œThe injury is bad news for us and very sad for Marcos,โ€ he said.

โ€œLast season he was very important for us and he was doing very well and improving every day this season.

โ€œOf course, I would play there again if I was asked.

โ€œBut Fede is working hard in training and if he is picked, he will do well.

โ€œHe is similar to me in many ways. Heading the ball is not his greatest strength, but tackling and going forward, he is a very good player. And he is definitely faster than me.

โ€œHe just needs some more experience of the game in this country and to get some confidence.โ€
