Bauza Waiting Patiently For His Chance

A twenty minute appearance against Doncaster Rovers may not be exactly what he had in mind when he started at Charlton back on the opening day of the season but Bauza has been happy to sit patiently and wait for his chance.

Whilst others may have thrown the proverbial toys from the pram, the man who was tipped for big things this season has not publically moaned about his predicament this season.

Speaking to today’s Wales on Sunday, the striker said โ€œI still feel great and a real part of the squad, we are doing well in the league and Swansea is a good place to be right now.

โ€œI am just waiting for my chance in the starting XI. But, when it comes, I want to show I can do it right.

โ€œLast season showed that my time will come. I know that if I am patient and work hard in training, I will get a chance.

โ€œThen I just need to make the most of it. Itโ€™s a similar situation to last year and that worked out well.

โ€œOf course it will take one or two games to get properly sharp because training is never the same as match practice. But I am still confident and thatโ€™s the most important thing for a striker.

But Martinez has worked hard to cultivate collective unity at the Liberty Stadium.

And Bauza is the perfect example of how those not playing remain just as committed to the cause as those who make the starting XI on a weekly basis.

โ€œItโ€™s not a case of being frustrated,โ€ he explained. โ€œWe have a really good squad here and sometimes you just have to wait. Itโ€™s a very long season and the gaffer will need every one of us.

โ€œItโ€™s important you are ready when the team needs you and I am going to make sure I am.

โ€œRoberto has told me I will get to play when the time is right. He showed me that last season so Iโ€™m not worried. As a footballer you just have to know that there will be good and bad times.โ€
