Ferrie Bodde’s operation to repair the cruciate ligament damage sustained in last Friday’s loss to Birmingham City has been declared a full success by Swansea City physio Richie Evans.
Earlier this week both Bodde and Evans travelled to knee specialists at the state of the art Lister Hospital in London for a consultation with surgeons. Yesterday the 26 year old went under the knife to repair damage to his knee and early indications show that the operation went well as Evans alluded to on the clubs official site, he said “The surgeon was really pleased with the way the operation went. Repairing the cruciate ligament was straight forward, while Ferrie also had the tears in his cartilage patched up as well.โ
Over the course of the next few months Bodde will be under the close eye of medical staff at former club Ado Den Haag and leading physio staff in the midfielder’s homeland, Evans added, “Now he will spend the next few weeks rehabilitating back home in Holland with his family. The physio at Den Haag has agreed to keep a close eye on him, together with the team doctor and physio of the Dutch national team.โ
โThey have a specialist centre out in Holland like Lilleshall where he will get the best medical treatment possible. They have welcomed him in with open arms.”
