Swansea City have been drawn against today’s giant killers Histon away in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
The Stutes secured safe passage to the third round after beating Leeds United 1-0 at Bridge Street this afternoon.
Last seasons cup campaign saw Roberto Martinez’s side face non league opposition in every round of the world renowned domestic cup competition. In the first round the Swans faced a trip to Isthmian Premier division outfit Billericay Town where the Liberty Stadium club had to survive an early scare from the Essex club to win over their non league opponents 2-1 thanks courtesy of a brace from Guillem Bauza.
There would be another non league side to overcome in the second round as another Ishmian Premier division side Horsham stood in the Swans way of a third round berth. Into the hornets nest, Swansea were held to a 1-1 draw after a spectacular goalkeeping display from Paul Seuke. Showing their league status Horsham were dealt a footballing lesson in the replay as John Maggs’s side suffered a comprehensive 6-2 defeat.
Humiliation was to follow for Swansea City in the third round as Blue Square South side Havant And Waterlooville broke Liberty hearts to go through to the fourth round to face premiership outfit Liverpool at Anfeild.
The ties will take place on the weekend of 3 and 4 January.
