Celtic and Swansea City seem to be locked in a two horse race to get the signature of McGinn from his current club Derry City.
Last weekend there were rumours that the Swans had secured the signature of the player but as the week has progressed there seems to be a higher chance of him joining the club he supported as a lad – Celtic.
BBC Sport reports that he will complete the move to Celtic on Monday whilst the Sunday papers claim that the prospect of regular first team football at the Liberty may be too hard to turn down.
A source close to McGinn is quoted as saying “It’s down to a fight between Swansea or Celtic.ย ย It’s a tough decision as moving to Parkhead to play for his favourite side is his dream.
“It’s now a matter of choosing whether his heart rules his head.”
McGinn was recently named Eircom League young player of the year by the Professional Footballers’ Association of Ireland.
The fee reported by the BBC is around ยฃ200,000.
