The Deepdale club have in the build up to tomorrow’s game at the Liberty Stadium a ten day break in the fixture list. Whilst some of the Preston players have jetted off abroad opponents Swansea City have not had such a luxury but more importantly claimed the scalp of former FA Cup holders Portsmouth.in the fourth round of the competition.

This season Swans manager Roberto Martinez has received critical acclaim and the Scot has added himself to that growing list of admirers as the 50 year old believes that the Spaniard deserves a lot of credit for the way the Liberty Stadium club play as he told Whites World , he said โ€œThey are a very good team and Roberto deserves a great deal of credit for the way that he has got them playing. Swansea are an extremely good football team. They pass the ball very well they stick to the principles of passing and playing out from the back and they deserve a lot of credit for that.โ€

Goals from Ferrie Bodde and Jordi Gomez were enough to see off Preston last September but Irvine has admitted that he feels aggrieved at not securing all three points at home to Swansea he added โ€œWhen they came to our place we dominated the game but ended up losing it and Roberto was humble enough to come out and say afterwards we were the better team and they were fortunate to get the result they got.โ€

Predicting that the game will be similar affair to the one at Deepdale the Glasgow born manager has accepted that his players will have to be at their very best if they are to beat an in form Swansea side, โ€œWhile I expect it to be a similar type of game in terms of the football both teams will try to playย I have no doubt that we have to be extremely good to beat them.โ€

Season ticket holders are reminded that they can buy one ticket and get another free on presentation of their season ticket books.
