Swansea City are on a 13 game unbeaten streak and go to Southampton on Saturday on the back of five successive wins that have lifted them to the brink of the play off places as well as the last 16 of the FA Cup.

And Bauza – who scored for the Swans on Tuesday against Preston – believes there are similarities between this and last season when the Swans won League One in a canter on the back of a remarkable post Christmas run.

Speaking to the Evening Post, the striker said “The feelings now are getting similar to what they were last year.

“We had the winning mentality last season which meant winning games was not a big deal for us.

“And this year we are getting into that mentality again. We are not thinking about the play-offs at the moment, only the next game.

“But the mood we have is that maybe we are going to experience great things again this season.

“You have that adrenalin and it comes out when you score a goal,” he added.

“I went to see my team-mates because I know they have been struggling like me and I wanted to reward them with a bit of happiness.”
