He told the official Southampton web-site "The attitude and the working spirit of the boys was excellent, we were a team and we were fighting for each other.
"Coming back from 2-1 to 2-2 in this match with ten men gives us confidence that if we can stay with all 11 players on Tuesday night then we can win that match. We have to prove ourselves again in our own stadium.
"If I compare this match with the 3-0 defeat at Swansea we showed a much better performance
"I would have liked to have it 11 vs 11 and maybe we could have picked up three points but it was 2-2 and now we have to win against Sheffield United.
"It was not a clever one if you ask me," he said in relation to the challenge that saw Molyneux sent off. "When you have already picked up a yellow you should be in control of yourself.
"It's probably because of inexperience. Lee is a young player, and it's only his fifth or sixth game for Saints but it could have been a very expensive mistake but we had Saganowski who was man of the match for us.
"Marek is very important for us at the moment," he continued. "He's working hard, he is there and I think the second striker benefits from that and David McGoldrick tried to do his best as well.
"Marek has scored four in four and next time it may be McGoldrick's turn, but I am pleased for him.
"We started well and got on top of them and I think we surprised them a little bit with the shape we were playing and benefited a bit from that.
"The goal they scored was out of the blue and only because of the quality of Gomez – he is a Premier League player I think – he picked out the gap and it was clinical finishing.
"To be honest Swansea are one of the best teams in the Championship over the past couple of weeks and have had some great results.
"At the end of the match it was a score that was fair but it was not what we wanted. It feels like winning a point but I'm disappointed we didn't win this match because we need all three points."
