Jenkins Swans Will Not Pay Over Odds For Dyer

Over the last few weeks there has been a significant gulf in the valuation of the player with Southampton holding out for up to ยฃ750,000 but Swansea are only willing to pay ยฃ500,000 to secureย theย pacy winger.

Should the Liberty Stadium club sign the highly rated 21 year old it would smash the clubs record transfer record. With the hours ticking by until the closure of the transfer window, Jenkins has admitted there is not a lot of room for negotiation and has warned the south coast side he will not be held to ransom as he told the SWEP, he said โ€œI don’t like to be pushed into a corner. The fact that the transfer window is about to close means there is not much room for negotiationโ€

He added โ€œYou don’t want to be in a position where there’s a gun held to your head and I can tell you that if a deal is not right for Swansea City, it will not happen. We explore every possibility and we look at every situation, but these things have to be done on our terms.”

Airing on the side of caution , Jenkins is standing firm but is hopeful that a deal can be done but has insisted the club are willing to bide their time and secure the services of Dyer in the summer if no deal can be reached today.”We have our valuation, though, and there is no way we are going to suddenly change our mind and say .Let’s gamble and see what happens. We are still hopeful that something could happen but there will have to be a change at their end. If there isn’t, we’ll wait until the summer and see where we are then.”
