He said after the game โThere are mixed feelings because Iโm delighted with the performance and the way we reacted after our own mistake with the goal โ but then disappointed that we didnโt win the game.
โAnd it just goes to show again that sometimes performances donโt bring you the result they deserve โ and it was one of those days.
โBut it is a great learning curve for us and a great experience we can use.
โI look at some phases of play, the majority of possession, the chances we created and the very good goal we scored.
โThey are huge positives when you consider this was against a good Premiership side at the right end of the table.
โPeople may be surprised the way we contained them but that is the way we have been.
โIf they had seen us week-in week-out that is us, and that is why my only concern before the game was to be ourselves.
โI feel very proud of my players because of that โ but at the same time you need to win games when you play like that, no matter who you play against and we didnโt do that.
โWe have to be realistic when you look at their record at home that this was our best chance to go through.
โWeโre not going to go there and not give it a go and try and win. But Fulham got away with it a bit here and we have to be realistic that it will be tough in the replay โ but we will go there with our best intentions.
โTo face a Premier League team and not be defensively-minded shows something about the confidence and belief in this team.
