Dyer was on target for Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday but it was not enough to give the Swans the victory as they were frustrated by a 1-1 draw with Charlton.

They do though have the opportunity to get back to winning ways at Derby on Tuesday – the first of two away games in the East Midlands in a four day period as they face Forest on Saturday.

And Dyer knows that everything from now on in is a fight with the Swans just two points outside the play off zone.

Speaking to the Evening Post, Dyer said "We look at every game as a positive, never a negative. We had the chances, but it didn't happen

"At least we're creating them. Hopefully we can do the same on Tuesday and put them in the back of the net.

"We're still there, we can still make the play-offs. We're trying to get automatic promotion, get right up there and get as many points as we can.

"We want to make the play-offs and we'll do everything we can to get there.

"People need to remember this team was in League One last season. Everyone was tipping us to struggle.

"Swansea have done tremendously and the set of players here are great. We're going to keep going from strength to strength.

"I scored a goal and a terrible chance went begging for me," he said. "I should have put that away. That was the easiest of the two.

"I think I just got a bit excited and I didn't connect with it properly, it came off my shin rather than my boot.

"It was an easy tap-in, maybe it was too easy and I didn't concentrate. I don't know what happened.

"It went wide and I just wanted to rewind and do it again. But I'm not going to be downhearted, I'm just going to look forward to the Derby game on Tuesday.

"Once we go 1-0 up I think we should be able to hold on to the lead or even push on," said Dyer.

"It happens to the best of teams. You have chances to score, but sometimes it doesn't happen.

"We're still there or thereabouts. Fortunately we didn't lose any ground."
