In a game that Swansea simply had to win to ensure that the club's play-off ambitions stayed alive there was no margin for error but the nature of the win courtesy of Garry Monk's first half headed goal was even more pleasing for the Spaniard as he told the BBC, he said “Our performance was not a hopeful performance by a team hoping to get a good result, we've learned from experience how to win games at this level. “
He added "On the ball we did everything we needed to do to break Bristol City down and off the ball, we worked very hard to nullify their set-pieces so overall it was a complete performance and that is a great step forward for us. “
"We knew how to be effective, how to control the tempo and how to defend and sense danger and that is vital – it was a very mature performance. It shows how much we have learned this year in our first season back at this level."
