Saturday’s referee is Rob Styles from Waterlooville, he became a Football League ref in 1996 and a Premier League referee in 2000. His biggest honour was when he officiated in the FA Cup Final in 2005.

He has had his fair share of controversy in his career from the media by wrongly awarding penalties in big Premier League matches, so far this season he has averages just over 3 yellows per game and has issued 7 reds (one was rescinded).

Styles has taken charge of just 5 Swansea matches in his career and we are yet to lose when he has refereed. He did send off two opposition players and awarded a penalty each against Rotherham away when we won the Division 3 Championship.

Stats so far this season:

31 Games,
99 Yellows,
7 Reds.
