The Swansea City manager brings down the curtain on the season of Championship football today at the Liberty with the Swans secured of a Top 8 poisition.
Meanwhile in Yorkshire, nearest rivals Cardiff City go in search of the point that will ensure their appearance in the end of season play offs with a 1 in 4 chance of reaching the Premier League.
And while that may not be something that too many in South West Wales wish for Cardiff, it is not something that concerns Roberto who told Wales on Sunday “Cardiff City are a Welsh club and in that respect we have a similar responsibility in terms of improving the standard of Welsh football
“We need to give John Toshack the best possible players.
“You always work together in that area, so success coming to Cardiff comes to Wales and come to Swansea City.
“So you always want teams in your own area to do well.”
Roberto has been linked with moves away from the club this summer – speculation that will probably increase as clubs look for their summer changes and on that front he said “In any job, when you hear complimentary comments it does bring a smile on your face
“That said, in football you are only three defeats away from critical comments.
“But look, any compliment that comes my way should really go to the people who appointed me in the first place.”
