No sooner than the final whistle blew on Sunday preparations for next season began in earnest  with the Spaniard pressed into his post season plans. With a number of players in the frame to depart from the club over the summer one thing is for certain the 35 year old will not rush to change the look of his squad as he told the SWEP, he said “We are not going to make any drastic changes because that is not our style. We do things progressively and I feel we have improved in every transfer window over the last couple of years.”

Fringe players like Andrea Orlandi, Matty Collins and Owain Tudur Jones see their current deals with the club expire this summer and with the release of Dennis Lawrence after his loan spell with Crewe Alexandra this week it will be a tense time for those looking to secure extensions or find themselves other clubs.

Swansea have been strongly linked with Queen Of The South hot-shot Stephen Dobbie who has been reported to have signed a pre contract agreement with the club. Whilst fiery Lithuanian winger Saulius Mikoliunas is also set for contract negotiations with the Liberty Stadium club over a move to South Wales after being released by SPL outfit Hearts.

Beaming with excitement of assembling a strong squad for next season the Catalan believes he needs only a clutch of players to strengthen for the 2009/10 season as he now adds, “I believe we need at least four, five or six players in certain areas to give us a different dimension in our play.I think we are missing something, and we also need new players to keep challenging the ones that are already here and to help them keep on winning matches.”

"I am very excited about the squad we are going to assemble and I can guarantee the fans that we will be stronger next season."
