Swansea City finished eighth this time around and Roberto believes that anything that improves on that will be a success as he looks ahead already to the new season despite the old one only finishing five days ago.
Speaking to the Evening Post, Roberto said "We have taken a massive step forward this season. Now we are starting to prepare for the next challenge and we need to finish in the top seven in the next campaign.
"The aim of the club is always to improve in every department. I am not just talking about the squad, I am talking about other areas like our facilities.
"We need to improve every department of the football club.
"It's been a great season. If you look at it in terms of reaching our aims we wanted to compete at the higher level and we did that.
"We made sure we stayed in the division and then we competed for a play off place right until the end.
"That' a huge credit to the football club but now we must look to improve again."
