The only player to be seriously linked with a move to the Liberty since Sousa took charge last month is Jordi Lopez, who he signed during his time at QPR.

But Jenkins says that it’s no surprise that it’s quiet on the transfer front, as Sousa wants to assess his current squad before adding reinforcements.

The new boss is likely to have a good idea of his squad’s capabilities, and where he needs to strengthen during this week’s trip to Portugal.

They are due to return this weekend, so new signings could come as soon as early next week.

“It`s bound to be quiet in that sense with a new manager coming in,” Jenkins told Wales Online

“Paulo is still going through the process of looking at what he has got before rushing in to buying reinforcements.

“I know he has ideas and we will look at them. But, if we bring players in, they have to be right for the club and we need to take our time.

“Any money we receive into the club, whether it is for Jason or another player, will be used for developing the club.

“That`s not just limited to the playing staff, though.”
