Lopez has been strongly linked with a move to South Wales since Paulo Sousa – who signed him for QPR – took charge of the club in June.
28 year old Lopez would be Sousa’s first signing as the new manager at the Liberty Stadium and third in total this summer, following the acquisitions of Nathan Dyer and Stephen Dobbie.
The former Mallorca man scored once in 10 appearances for the R’s last season and contributed a number of assists, including one against the Swans at Loftus Road.
Should the Spaniard put pen to paper sometime this week, it’s expected that he could make his debut in the friendly match against Steve McClaren’s FC Twente this weekend.
