The former Fulham midfielder will undergo an operation on Monday to correct the long standing problem to his shoulder suffered in 4-1 win over Preston North End last January. Injuring his AC joint last time around the 24 year old was told that he faced a 10 week stint on the side-lines but returned just five weeks later. It is likely to see Pratley miss the first five weeks of the new Championship campaign.

It came as a blow to the midfielder last time around as he was due to earn his first international cap with Jamaica. This time club doctors are taking no chances after Pratley felt pain in the area where he suffered a rupture of the AC joint.

Pratley is also expected to undertake a two month rehabilitation program after the surgery on Monday. The injury leaves Swansea with just two fit centre midfielders for the trip to Leicester in Leon Britton and Joe Allen.
