The post claims that both will battle it out for a starting place for the game at home to Watford on the weekend, although it’s not yet known exactly whether the plans are to sign both on a loan or on a permanent basis.
Trundle, now at Bristol City, is yet to make an appearance so far this season, while Akinfenwa, at Northampton, has netted once in the opening few games.
Swansea have been looking to add up to two strikers to the squad over the summer and have been linked with moves for Grzegorz Rasiak, Danny Webber, Marek Saganowski and Pablo Counago – the latter turning down a move to the club earlier in the summer.
Should the moves for both Trundle and Akinfenwa go through, it would surely represent a real backwards step for the club after the achievements of the last few seasons.
The duo scored over 100 goals between them during their time in South Wales, but both are largely unproven and untested in the Championship.
