The Swansea City wideman has made just four starts so far this season and is looking to the second half of the season to give himself a turnaround in fortunes
Speaking to the Evening Post, Butler said “This season has been frustrating so far
“I have been in and out of the side and suffered a couple of niggles here and there.
“I missed pre-season because I had an operation and obviously that’s not ideal.
“It’s not a great start for anyone, but at the same time I don’t think I have really done myself justice when I have played.
“I want to get a couple of months of fitness in now, get back into the side and, hopefully, when I play I will take my chance.
“We have got lots of quality so if you do miss out or get injured, you are going to struggle to get your place back,” Butler added.
“But it’s great having a bunch of quality players โ that’s what we need to push forward.
“It’s not ideal timing for us,” Butler conceded.
“You don’t know what you’ll be facing when you show up and, nine times out of 10, teams in their situation will improve because they are trying to impress whoever the new manager is going to be.
“No doubt Wednesday will come out fighting tomorrow, so we have to match them.
“The most important thing is how we start the game โ that will set the tone for the whole afternoon.”
