I still have a feeling that this is nothing more than paper talk where they put two and two together and fill up some column inches.

It’s an obvious one to put out there – former manager notices that midfielder has not signed a new deal therefore former manager must be interested in making a move.

The paper today reportsWigan boss Robert Martinez is ready to pounce for Swansea old boy midfielder Leon Britton – if the Welsh club decide to cash in.

“Britton has rejected a new deal with Paulo Sousa’s team and the Championship promotion-chasers may choose to sell rather than let his contract run out.

“The former West Ham prospect has 18 months left on his deal but could be sold – with Martinez keen to take him on board if the price is right.”

It does seem likely that Britton is set to leave in January but I firmly remain in the camp that believes that if he moves on it will be a club nearer the capital rather than a relagation candidate in the Premiership.
