Swansea boss Paulo Sousa has been on the look out for midfield cover after suffering key injuries to Joe Allen, Andrea Orlandi, Ferrie Bodde and Jordi Lopez.
Frecklington was tipped as one of the clubs key targets along with Crystal Palace's Neil Danns and Sheffield United's Stephen Quinn. However Palace administrator Brendan Guilfoyle put the brakes on any move to secure the highly rated Danns, declaring no players were leaving Selhurst Park on loan.
The former Lincoln City man featured for Peterborough in the 1-0 loss to Swansea at the Liberty Stadium last month.
There is also still no word from the club on the status of negotiations with Serbian defender Dusko Tosic, after reports suggested that the FA were blocking the move.
