The Swansea City manager went into the month with his team hopeful of pushing on towards the automatic promotion spots but three defeats have put paid to those chances and they look as if they will have to settle for the play off berth.
Ipswich are the last opponents in a busy month for the Swans that has seen them play Tuesday-Saturday for the last three weeks and Paulo says he will be glad to see the calendar tick around to April next week
“I will be happy to see the back of March,” he told the Western Mail. “We all want to see out this month because, after that, we can see improvements with the injuries and those players can help us finish strong.
“Everyone gets difficulties in March, not just us. But we just need to focus on our own problems and be confident in our future.
“Things will start to look brighter from now until the end of the season. It will be better than the last month which was always going to be difficult.
“It’s important to have the full week for preparation because all we have done in training over the past month is recovery sessions. I haven’t been able to work on certain issues or work towards the players’ individual development.
“Once we have the chance to work on things properly, it can help us be more focused. That can help us be strong as we look to win games.
“I strongly believe that games are a reflection of what you do in training.
“Everything you do in training feeds your players and, over the last month, we haven’t been able to do anything other than recover the players.
“This happens one game per season and it happens to every team,” he explained. “That’s not just in the Championship, but the Premiership as well.
“Now we have the chance to change things immediately. We are at the Liberty Stadium and we can put the record straight.
“I don’t think it will be difficult for the players to respond to Tuesday. We can’t just judge a season on one game.
“I just need to look at the next game against Ipswich. I have no doubts the reaction will be fantastic.”
