Orlandi – We Need A Positive Result

The Swansea City midfielder made his own return to the side in the second half at Bloomfield Road but by that time the damage had been done and the Swans were on their way to defeat.

But as a busy March ends against Ipswich at the Liberty today, Orlandi thinks the Swans have what it takes to bounce back into form and maintain their push for a play off place.

Speaking to the Western Mail, Orlandi said “If we play the way we usually do, which is the most important thing, the results will come

“With the players coming back and the fixtures easing off, we will have a proper week to train and things will soon turn in the right way.

“We have to bounce back after Blackpool. The best way to forget it is by getting the three points today.

“We are still in a very good position but we need to get a positive result.

“If you want to be successful in football you need to forget about bad results and just make sure you turn it around as soon as possible.

“At this stage of the season it’s normal that you drop a few points. We were flying but it’s inevitable you will get a few bad results.

“We have had some injuries but a lot of the players are coming back now. Hopefully, with the players returning, we can get some good results, starting with Ipswich.

“The fact people are talking about when I’m coming back must be a good thing,” he said.

“It shows I am doing something right when I do play.

“That’s a nice feeling to have and I just want to keep playing well so the fans will keep thinking the same. It hasn’t always been like that.

“During the first two years I hardly played so the fans didn’t even know me.

“So now, if they appreciate what I have done this season, it makes me very happy.

“I don’t think I’m the solution. But I will just try to help and do my best as I always do.

“The other midfielders have been playing a lot of games and of course that means they can be physically and mentally tired.

“Obviously the more players who are fit the better it is for the team because then you have competition again.

“It would be good to get some fresh legs in the team as well. Hopefully I can make a difference in that respect.

“It’s good to come back at this stage of the season,” he said.

“We are going to be facing some really difficult games every week and I want to be involved.

“We just have to focus on each game, starting with Ipswich.

“We need to push on from the first minute and impose ourselves to make sure we have the best chance to win the game.

“They are not an easy team to beat though and, when we played there, I thought they were a really decent side. They were still struggling at the bottom and you could see they were suffering but now they don’t have that pressure so much.

It’s so frustrating because you want to be involved, helping the team turn things around.

“Sitting in the stands and watching on is the worst thing for any player. These things happen but it’s not a nice feeling.”
