The Swansea City captain was looking for the positives after the Swans were beaten by a late goal at Bristol City at the weekend – a result that dropped them down one place in the league table.
With three games left to go in the season, the Swans are 2 points clear of Blackpool after the seasiders were beaten 4-1 by already promoted Newcastle on the weekend.
Monk told the Western Mail “The way we make things right is with togetherness and spirit, we’ve got that in abundance.
“You just have to get the attitude right. It has to be spot-on week in, week out.
“We can’t dwell on this defeat.
“We have to dust ourselves off, make sure we train hard and get the three points at Barnsley.
“We do look at the other results. But, realistically, what can we do about them.
“If they are doing well and winning their games and we’re not, then it’s our fault.
“All we can do is win our game.
“We still have the two-point gap and now there is one less game to go.
“We have to see that as a positive.
“We know it will take some work and it’s never easy for any team to get across the line. We are not worried about it though.
“The way I look at things, it’s just great to be fighting at this end of the table. It’s exciting because there is something riding on every game and that’s where we want to be.”
