Moves from Leicester City and Celtic late on in the transfer window were rejected by Swansea City and Williams said he is happy to help the Swans on their way towards their promotion push.
And he insists that he was not disappointed to remain at Swansea despite that interest from elsewhere
"I was away with Wales when it was happening so I was only getting second-hand information about what was going on," Williams told the Evening Post.
"I spoke to the gaffer on deadline day and he told me what he knew.
"The rest of it was just what I read on the internet and what I was hearing on my phone.
"The gaffer told me about Leicester, but I don't know about Celtic because when I spoke to him, they had not been mentioned.
"I'm not sure what went on with them, if anything. I don't know if they inquired about me or put a bid in.
"But what can you say about Celtic as a club? They are a massive club — you only have to look at the players who have played for them to see that.
"When you've come from where I've come from, it's really flattering. And it's quite flattering that (Leicester boss) Paulo Sousa came in because it shows he enjoyed working with me. I get on well with him and I respect what he has done in the game.
"It's always nice if someone is prepared to put money up for you.
"I wouldn't say I was disappointed nothing happened on deadline day," he added.
"I just left it to the club — whatever they said was going to happen to me, that's what I was going to be doing.
"I didn't really worry about it too much.
"I wasn't going to make any noise about going — I was not too fussed.
"People don't realise that sometimes clubs are happy with what they are offered and then you have to go, but I'm happy with the way we've started the season and I'm happy to be here.
"My aim is to get into the Premier League and, as of yet, no Premier League team has made a bid for me.
"There has only been speculation, so all I can do is concentrate on Swansea.
"I'm happy doing that because I like the way things are going here. With the players we have signed and the players we have been linked with, everything looks to be on the up."
